Ribbons Unlimited History
Ribbons Unlimited is a vocational branch of the Arc that has been in existence since 1973. The business started as a training program for the Arc. It began with one printing machine that was used as a guidance tool to teach work skills to adults with mental retardation/developmental disabilities. Training consisted of how to operate a machine, attend to task, and meet production requirements. Items printed were not sold, but were given away as our funding sources did not allow clients to actually “work” during training hours. As funding sources changed and as clients became more competent in their printing skills, the Arc started selling printed materials in small quantities.
By 1988, Ribbons Unlimited was up to three printing machines, and orders were consistent enough to keep four clients working throughout the day. Throughout this time Ribbons Unlimited was housed in the Arc’s Opportunity Center. By 2000, Ribbons Unlimited had outgrown the space it occupied at the Opportunity Center. It was felt by the Arc Board of Director’s that it needed to be self-sufficient in the community. Within the year, a building on Cahill Drive was renovated to house this as a small business in hopes of more expansion.
Ribbons Unlimited Services
Ribbons Unlimited is a manufacturing business that sells printed napkins, rosettes, ribbons, and bookmarkers. Our primary customers are schools, churches, civic organizations, clubs, businesses, and private individuals. The business is unique as customers can order one ribbon or thousands of ribbons. All products are hand made and checked individually to make sure the product meets customers’ expectations. The quality of our product is better than other local printers as we print on a much thicker, durable ribbon than those of our competitors. All of our printing is done locally and on site. We are the only ribbon and napkin printing business that locally prints our product. Ribbons Unlimited also has a commitment to on time delivery.

We are able to order specialized logos to suit your needs. Please allow three weeks notice for ordering Logo. We will need a camera-ready black & white copy of your logo. The cost usual ranges between $20.00 to $30.00 plus shipping cost.
Placing Orders
Orders for stock ribbons (1st, 2nd, 3rd place, etc.) may be placed at any time, but if it is needed the same day, please place your order before 1:30 p.m. Orders for non-stock ribbons should be placed 10 business days in advance for small orders (example: all orders requiring 50 to 100 ribbons or less with no more than 6 printing lines). For all other orders you will be put on a schedule according to availability.
Payment of Orders/ Picking Up Orders
If you wish to use a Purchase Order, please fill out our credit application (schools are not required to complete an application). Your credit application must be approved prior to placing your order. If you are not using a Purchase Order, payment is due when you pick up your order. For your convenience we accept cash, check, or credit cards. The person placing the order is responsible for payment of the ribbon order. Orders may be picked up from Ribbons Unlimited from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. You may have your order mailed to you if you are out of town, with postage added to the bill.
Discounts
A 10% discount will be taken on all orders over 400 ribbons. A 15% discount will be taken if the order is placed 90 days before it is due.
We try to accept and fill all orders in a timely manner; however, we reserve the right to refuse orders at our discretion. Our orders are filled on a first come, first served basis. Please give us as much time as possible to print your order.
